If you have any other way of playing the game that doesn't involve consoles, I'd go for it. Alien Hunters DLC All Grenades are upgraded to Bombs with the Advanced Explosives Proving Ground project. Grenades have a default range of 10 squares. All other grenades are unlocked via Engineering, Research or the Proving Ground. Only the Frag Grenade is available at the start of the game. Start up XCOM 2 again and load a saved game from the campaign that is bugging out. Grenades are a class of weapons in XCOM 2. Delete the 'Photobooth' parent folder entirely. When the game tries to open a Covert Ops mission screen, this is where it is looking for the soldier pictures. I played 250 hours of it on PS4 despite the aforementioned issues. That folder should be empty, which is the problem our antivirus is causing. I'm not convinced it's really possible to finish the game in Ironman mode on PS4 without backing up your saves. So unless you take the time to quit the game often and manually backup your saves, you'll lose hours, upon hours of progress. And if you're playing Ironman, well, you're screwed, unless you had a cloud backup, but on Playstation cloud backups do not happen automatically if the game is running. Below you can find these issues described and also at the end of the post a tutorial on how to fix them. And when the game crashes between turns, it'll more often than not wipe the save files of the campaign as it crashes. The most common XCOM 2 issues that users mostly complained about are: Crashes, random crashes or crashes during the startup, Game Not Starting and Performance Issues like Stuttering, Freezes, and problems with the FPS. Crashes are of course incredibly annoying, but this game has a penchant for crashing between turns, and this exacerbated by the WoTC expansion. The only game in recent memory that has crashed nearly as much has been Cyberpunk 2077, but even that couldn't even come close. Load times can be monstrously long, on base PS4, but I assume it's the same on PS4 Pro.Ĭoncerning Stability: This is the bigger issue. The cursor feels heavy as a result, and so do the menus. Everything takes longer to respond than you'd like. The 'strategy' layer, with the world map is also sluggish. Because this is a turn-based strategy game, this is not a deal breaker, as it would be in many other games, but it still makes the game less enjoyable than it would be otherwise. Explosions and anythign that has to do with transparencies or particles also bring the game to its knees, making the game feel sluggish and unresponsive. Camera pans bring framerate to what presumably is the mid-teens. There's no way to sugar coat it: on PS4 (and I assume, on Xbox One as well), XCOM 2 runs like shit, and it's incredibly unstable.Ĭoncerning Performance: frame rate is terrible. It's truly mind-boggling that they'd ship a game in this state. It's one of the buggiest big release games I've played on console in my life.
